When my officemate just found out that my Mums from Kelantan, she suddenly said 'Ouh..Kelantan murtad la ni?'

What makes she say that?
What did she mean?
Am I supposed to speak Kelantanese to show that is where my Mum is coming from?
Instead of where Im coming from?

I found this question is so hard to answer.
And I always assume they asked where my family lives right now.

But then it depends on what you mean by the question.

If you mean 'Lahir kat mane'
Then it would be Kuantan

If you mean 'Mak asal mane'
That would be Kelantan

If you mean 'Ayah asal mane'
Hmm..hard to answer. Refer to next question

'Ayah lahir mane'
That would be Kelantan

But I love to answer:

'Saye lahir kat Kuantan.
Mak saye lahir kat Kelantan and raised there.
Ayah saye pon lahir kat Kelantan tapi membesar kat Terengganu skejap until his started his secondary school at Pahang.
Then both my parents works at Pahang and currently lives in Kuantan.
And yes saye tahu dan faham loghat Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang.
Oleh itu, saye orang Pantai Timur.'
